Ally

Miyamoto Musashi

Voice: Kenichiro Thomson

Face Model: Toshiro Mifune

An ardent samurai who arrives in Kyoto looking to prove that he is unmatched in the way of the sword. However, the path before him takes a strange and unexpected turn.

Ally

Oni Lady

Voice: Yuriri Naka

A female Oni housed in Musashi's Oni Gauntlet. While she usually supports Musashi from within the gauntlet, she can also appear before him when the need arises.

Ally

Ono no Takamura

Voice: Shogo Miyakita

An individual that Musashi comes to meet through the guidance of the voice in his gauntlet. A highly skilled swordsman, he can vanquish Genma with ease despite his old age. He also appears to have an Oni Gauntlet, much like Musashi and Ganryu...

Ally

Izumo no Okuni

Voice: Leader Looi

A young dancer who, due to certain circumstances, comes to Ono no Takamura seeking the power to defeat the Genma. While her Kabuki dance has brought her fame within the city, other priorities are keeping her from the stage of late.

Rival

Sasaki Ganryu

Voice: Tashinga Bepete

A swordsman, also known by the name Sasaki Kojiro. His fate seems inescapably intertwined with Musashi's. It would appear he also wields an Oni Gauntlet...

Formidable foe

Daidara

Voice: Abe Jarman

A towering Genma that revels in wreaking havoc with mighty swings of its intimidating club. Constantly in a state of hunger, he seeks out sustenance with an obsessive fervor.

Formidable foe

Dokyo

Voice: Clare Corbett

An unusual entity that spends much of her time in her laboratory under the capital, engrossed in creating new Genma variants. One glimpse at the facility's eerie nature is enough to make clear her twisted tastes.

Formidable foe

Greater Nue

not listed

A Genma created by Dokyo. It assaults its prey with feral, agile attacks, and strikes of lightning.

Formidable foe

Shuten Doji

Voice: Anthony Howell

A large Genma found within a fortress atop Mount Oe, whose heinous acts know no bounds. Legends tell of an Oni by the same name, but could there be some connection here...?

Formidable foe

Rasho-gan

Voice: Adam Longworth

A cunning Genma who has brought harm to many at Yasui Konpiragu Shrine, under the guise of answering their prayers. He employs threads extended from his body to launch devious surprise attacks.

Formidable foe

Burai

Voice: Richard Reed

The elder of the Genma siblings that have made Kennin-ji Temple their lair. Just like his younger brother, the promise of good fight gets his blood pumping. He fights with the combination of a naginata-like polearm and contraptions that unleash bursts of lightning.

Formidable foe

Ifuu

Voice: Adam Stickler

The younger of the Genma siblings that have made Kennin-ji Temple their lair. He seeks out duels with worthy challengers, alongside his older brother, Burai. Capable of stirring up powerful gales, he wields the wind to blast away his foes.

Genma

Hitotsume Gasa

Capable of wielding swords, bows, and shields, these Genma tend to attack in groups. They are driven purely by their basal urges to kill and devour people.

Genma

Byakue

An immensely destructive Genma, possessing unfathomable strength that allows it to swing its giant axe with great ease. The more stained in its own blood it becomes, the greater its power grows.

Genma

Kubi Akari

A strange, floating Genma variant, whose skin has a pale-bluish hue. They consume the floating souls that Musashi needs for his gauntlet, and puff up before firing blasts of energy at their prey. Despite their diminutive size, they should not be underestimated.

Genma

Chijiko

A Genma created by Dokyo. A grotesque mass of stitched together faces and elastic tentacles.

Genma

Kogashira

A parasitic Genma that puppets a human host, enhanced by the souls it has consumed. It releases Malice, which can bolster other Genma nearby.

Genma

Togemaru

A Genma with large spikes running down its back. They charge forward, spinning or rolling at great speeds, to shred anyone unfortunate enough to remain in their path.

Genma

Oboro Garasu

A winged, ninja-like Genma variant. They watch Musashi's every move, striking when an opening presents itself. Oboro Garasu employ deadly combination attacks when paired with another. A moment's inattentiveness often marks the end of their quarry's life.

Genma

Dohatsu-ten

A Genma that overpowers its enemies with swift movement and deft bladework. It's strengthened further still with every soul it absorbs, and with every drop of Musashi's blood that stains its sword.

How the twenty records are grouped

Capcom’s character pages on the official site name allies (Musashi, Oni Lady, Ono no Takamura, Izumo no Okuni), one rival (Sasaki Ganryu), formidable foes (Daidara, Dokyo, Greater Nue, Shuten Doji, Rasho-gan, Burai, Ifuu), and Genma types (Hitotsume Gasa, Byakue, Kubi Akari, Chijiko, Kogashira, Togemaru, Oboro Garasu, Dohatsu-ten).

Rival must reduce the list to Sasaki Ganryu — 1 of 20. That is the interaction this page is built for. Voice credits are copied from official lines, including “not listed” where Capcom published no voice.

Musashi’s Steam header shows him beside another swordsman; that still is not a proof of a playable second protagonist.

Use Ally, Rival, Formidable foe, or Genma to hide the rest. The count label reads n of 20 so you can see the filter is real. Rival is the test case: only Sasaki Ganryu remains.

Voice credits are copied even when they only say “not listed,” because that is still a first-party field. Face Model: Toshiro Mifune is unique to Musashi in this capture. Do not spread that credit onto Ganryu or Takamura.

Oni Lady, Ganryu, and the gauntlet

Oni Lady is a female Oni housed in Musashi's Oni Gauntlet. She usually supports him from within and can appear when needed; Yuriri Naka is the listed voice. Sasaki Ganryu, also Sasaki Kojiro, is the rival whose fate is described as intertwined with Musashi’s, and who also appears to wield an Oni Gauntlet.

Ono no Takamura is an aged swordsman Musashi meets through the voice in the gauntlet; he too appears to have an Oni Gauntlet. Izumo no Okuni is the dancer seeking power to defeat Genma. Those four allied names plus Ganryu are the human-facing core of the roster.

Formidable foes and Genma types are listed with official summaries only. This page does not add family trees or 2001-plot links that Capcom has not restated for 2026.

Greater Nue is a Dokyo creation with lightning. Chijiko is a stitched mass of faces. Kogashira puppets a host and releases Malice. Those summaries are the entire published sheet for those names; this page will not add HP bars beside them.
