Cadence
Parry → Deflect → Issen → Break Issen → Chain Issen
The homepage spine is Capcom’s published combat chain, not a row of generic wiki hubs. Select a named technique; the panel quotes the official Action page and jumps to Swordplay. Capcom has not published frame data, numeric stamina values, or hitboxes, so this page does not invent them. Souls-like appears among Steam user tags; it is not Capcom’s genre line.
First-party pages to keep open while you read: Steam app 2638890 and the official Way of the Sword site. Both still listed the game as coming soon at capture. Price varies by region and store, so treat any figure as the current store price rather than a frozen global MSRP.
Parry drains stamina when you slam a foe into a wall or another body. Deflect can send a projectile home. Issen is the late button. Break Issen needs exhaustion first and can choose a boss body part. Chain Issen is the pack-clear follow-up. Those are Capcom’s sentences, not a combo FAQ with frames.
Parry
Redirect enemy attacks by blocking at just the right moment. The unbalanced opponent will be left open to attack briefly, and they can even be sent crashing into walls or other enemies. Making an enemy collide with something will greatly reduce their stamina, pushing them closer to exhaustion.

Trailers that show the cadence
YouTube chapters inject a youtube-nocookie player on click. Steam chapters keep the store trailer’s own id off YouTube and show an official still plus a caption naming that still. The Overview Trailer is Capcom USA’s Capcom Spotlight cut (3 May 2026). PV5 is the latest Steam highlight reel. The announce trailer is the original store beat. Expanded Demo and Severing Fates stay on this five-button rail as jumps to their bound pages.
Nothing in these clips is treated as a published boss order, stamina table, or retail encounter script. They exist so you can see the named Issen cadence and the dual-cite launch window without leaving this page. Expanded Demo lives on the Demo page because that media id is bound to the trial routes, not to Home.
The stills gallery and the trailer rail are separate: changing PV5 does not change the gauntlet still. That split keeps Issen footage from being mistaken for a screenshot database.

Official stills
Inspected Steam screenshots
One inspected stage still plus a thumb strip: header key art, the gauntlet thrust, Kiyomizu-dera, the library hero, and the small capsule. The large frame is a crop-marked stage; the five thumbs are the unique bitmaps so Home does not stack full-width duplicates under the control.
Crop-marks are vermillion corners on official Steam bitmaps, not rounded marketing cards. Clicking a thumb swaps the stage background and caption together and keeps aria-pressed on a single control.
Hero still ss-00 stays in the Issen-window band above this gallery, so the strip does not repeat that courtyard duel. Capsule is Home-exclusive in the media ledger; the other four thumbs are on their allowed third routes.
The strip is the inspected-screenshot control from the sealed candidate: one stage, many thumbs, no later stacked full-width figures under the rail. Clicking a thumb must not spawn a second copy of that still elsewhere on Home.

Musashi in Kyoto
Miyamoto Musashi arrives looking to prove he is unmatched in the way of the sword. Capcom used the late actor Toshiro Mifune as the face model; Kenichiro Thomson voices him. A female Oni housed in the gauntlet — Oni Lady, voiced by Yuriri Naka — usually supports him from within and can appear when needed. Sasaki Ganryu, also named Sasaki Kojiro, is the named rival who also appears to wield an Oni Gauntlet.
The official roster is twenty named records: allies, one rival, formidable foes such as Daidara and Dokyo, and Genma types including Kubi Akari. Filter that list on the Cast page. Trailer or screenshot appearances are footage, not a published boss order for the retail campaign.
Ono no Takamura and Izumo no Okuni complete the allied names. Daidara, Dokyo, Greater Nue, Shuten Doji, Rasho-gan, Burai, and Ifuu are the formidable-foe names. Genma types fill the rest of the twenty. Open Cast and press Rival if you only want Ganryu.
The launch window, dual-cited
Steam’s store field reads 3 Sep, 2026. Capcom IR and the official site footer state Friday, September 4, 2026. Treat them as timezone presentations of one launch, not a contradiction: write 3–4 September 2026 and keep both citations. The previously announced date was Friday, September 25, 2026, moved forward on 2 July 2026.
After that move, digital pre-order kits became Early Adopter Bonuses with store-specific clocks through 24–25 September. Launch platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. Switch 2 lists Joy-Con 2 motion controls; the demo listing on that store was not captured as live.
Platforms at launch are PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC on Steam, Epic, and Microsoft Store. Switch 2 names Joy-Con 2 motion. Check Release for store ids and which shops already host the demo.
Early Adopter clocks after the 2 July 2026 move run through 24–25 September on digital stores. Missing that clock can drop timed extras; it does not un-purchase Standard. Details live on Editions.
Demo is not retail
The free Onimusha: Way of the Sword DEMO (Steam 3974650) shipped 2 June 2026 and expanded 25–26 August 2026 past the Sasaki Ganryu duel into Oni Refuge and another boss. Official notes: demo save data will not continue into the base game; the demo differs in some regards from the full game.
Keep the save anyway — Charm: Kubi Akari is claimed in retail via the Spirit Mirror. Do not infer retail combat numbers from the demo. Use the Demo checklist for download, save, no-continue, and expanded-build tasks.
The expanded slice names Oni Refuge and Daidara in Capcom Europe’s trailer. That is a title card, not a retail spawn table. If you last played in June, update the trial before you decide the demo is short. Kubi Akari is both a charm claimed through the Spirit Mirror and a floating Genma that eats souls — the checklist on the Demo page keeps those jobs separate.
Series name, new-game hotspot
The domain is a series name; the living search demand is Way of the Sword. The 2001 debut, the 2019 Warlords HD remaster on Steam (appid 761600), and this 2026 title as Capcom’s first new Onimusha in over twenty years are the only lineage facts this homepage will state. Older plot charts that Capcom did not restated for 2026 stay off the page.
You can open Series for the four-node control (2001 / 2019-01-15 / 2026-06-02 / 2026-09-03/04) without a spoiler recap of Dawn of Dreams. Editions and PC Specs sit one click away if you are buying rather than watching Issen clips.
Warlords HD (15 January 2019, Steam 761600) is the remaster of the 2001 debut. It is optional context, not a listed unlock for 2026. This homepage will not summarise that remaster’s plot.
Open the Series timeline if you need the four dated nodes in one control. This homepage only states the revival sentence so the Issen window is not mistaken for a numbered sequel lock.
