Trailers that show the cadence

Capcom Europe’s Expanded Demo trailer names Oni Refuge and Daidara. Steam PV5 is shown as an official still because that trailer has no YouTube id. Play injects youtube-nocookie only for the Europe chapter.

Treat every silhouette as footage. Official notes already say the demo differs from the full game; a trailer cannot override that.

Where the demo lives

Steam lists Onimusha: Way of the Sword DEMO as appid 3974650. Capcom’s site and PlayStation Blog also pointed to console demo downloads when the trial launched. The demo appdetails payload captured on 30 August 2026 is sparse — empty about-text and no screenshots on the demo app record — so stills on this page come from the retail Steam gallery, labelled as such.

Xbox and PlayStation store rows captured a demo flag. Nintendo eShop for Switch 2 did not list a demo at capture. If you are on Switch 2, check that store again rather than assuming the Steam trial exists there.

This checklist stores four tasks in the browser: download, keep-save, read the no-continue note, and grab the expanded build. Reloading the page keeps the ticks.

PlayStation Blog and Capcom’s own demo page pointed to console downloads when the trial launched in June. Use those official buttons rather than a third-party repack. The four checklist ids — demo-download, demo-save-kubi-akari, demo-no-continue, demo-expanded — are the only tasks this page stores locally.

Save bonus and the no-continue line

Official demo notes say save data will not continue into the base game, and that the demo differs in some regards from the full game. That is why this wiki never writes “the retail fight works like the demo” from a captured clip.

The same official notes still tell you to keep the demo save. Charm: Kubi Akari is claimed in the full game through the Spirit Mirror. Kubi Akari is also the name of a floating Genma that eats souls; the charm and the enemy share a name in first-party copy.

Progress inside the demo itself is for that trial only. Do not expect a New Game+ import, story-flag carryover, or equipment unlock beyond the stated charm claim.

Spirit Mirror is the in-game menu that later unlocks appearance swaps and charm claims. Official copy says it unlocks as the game progresses, so a brand-new retail save still has to reach that menu before Kubi Akari appears. The demo file is the proof you played the trial, not a second inventory.

Expanded demo (25–26 August 2026)

A later official drop expanded the trial past the Sasaki Ganryu duel into Oni Refuge and another boss. Capcom Europe’s Expanded Demo trailer names Oni Refuge and Daidara. Naming a place or foe in a trailer still does not publish that foe’s retail health, stamina, or arena script.

If you last played in June, update the demo before judging length. Capcom has not published a full-game completion time, and this page will not invent one from the trial.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple is the named initial demo stage. Oni Refuge is the realm Musashi enters from that temple in the expanded slice. Both names come from Capcom’s location copy, not from a fan map.

Daidara is described as a towering Genma with a club and a constant hunger. Seeing that name on a trailer slate still does not publish the retail HP, stamina, or camera rails. The same caution applies to any other boss silhouette in the seven official videos.

What the demo is not allowed to prove

It is not a source for retail difficulty curves, new-game-plus flags, or skill-tree node counts — Capcom has not published those numbers for the full game. It is not a license to label Steam user-tag genres as official. It is not a walkthrough of the complete Kyoto list; Kiyomizu-dera and Oni Refuge are the named demo stages, and other stages live on the Edo Kyoto page.

Video chapters on this page include Capcom Europe’s Expanded Demo trailer and a Steam PV5 still. Steam trailers keep their own ids off YouTube and show an official still plus a caption. Clicking Play on a YouTube chapter injects a youtube-nocookie iframe; nothing loads from YouTube until that click.

If you only have time for one official warning, take the no-continue sentence. Everything else on this page exists to stop that sentence from being the only thing people remember — because the charm claim is the other half of the same official note.
